Our First Halloween :)

I'm not gonna lie. I really don't enjoy Halloween normally. Don't get me wrong, I love fall and holiday seasons, but Halloween is something I don't understand.

First off...i'm probably the BIGGEST scaredy cat you will ever meet. This is no lie. I can't even walk across the hallway at night to use the bathroom. Therefore I can NEVER go into haunted houses, corn mazes, circuses, insane asylums, forests and all of those other crazy things they have here. Doesn't matter how many times you tell me it's fake...I'm POSITIVE the one time an actual crazy person is at one of those things they will come for me or they will follow me home after. Along with that I definitely can't watch scary movies....so pretty much all of that Halloween stuff is out for me.

Second, do you remember when you were little your mom would always tell you not to talk to strangers or take candy from strangers? I find it kind of funny that all of those rules go out the window on Halloween. Like all of the bad people in the neighborhood suddenly get a conscience that night and think "It's Halloween i'll save the poisoning for another night"....Obviously most people you take candy from won't be poisoning it but i'm just saying....It could happen

Third, i think everyone has this annoyance, but I can't stand that every single girl (even in provo) feels that Halloween is a night to lower every standard you've ever been taught about modesty. Don't think i need to say much more there.

Fourth, Creepy guys in masks walking around while little children are out walking door to door...it just freaks me out.

Fifth, I'm really not a huge fan of candy. I mean if people were passing out grilled cheeses and steak on Halloween i'd be out there all night....but i can only have so many smarties before i want to puke.

Sixth, I really don't feel like i'm crafty enough for Halloween. I see all of these people who made super cute costumes for their kids, and i hardly ever know what i'm going to be until 5 minutes before i go out on Halloween. So much pressure to have the best costume!!

I guess you could call me a Halloween Humbug.

That being said...We actually had a pretty good Halloween week this past week. Full of non-scary activities. Thank goodness!

Last Friday Tom was gone at a gig with our new band The Strike. I stayed home to watch the dogs and to help out with a few Noteworthy things. After a Noteworthy gig that night, we all came back to the house and had a little halloween party. Mostly we just ate great food and watched a bunch of youtube videos, but it was really fun! I made a super cute cheeseball that i found on pinterest. SO SO GOOD!!!

Also, Ciara and her roommate Lauren stayed over for the weekend so that was fun too (pretty sure i would've died if i stayed at the house by myself for the night).

Then on Monday we had some leftover pumpkins from the Noteworthy party that we didn't use to Tom and I carved some. Mine was Minnie Mouse...I don't have a picture of it at the moment but just use your imagination. This was Tom's! It was awesome!!

Then on Wednesday for Halloween we had a gig with The Strike at the Velour I dressed up like a Bank Robber and Tom dressed up like.....something....He just bought a mask. But I think he looks like the Silver Surfer at the Grammy's So we'll go with that :)

Don't worry everyone, I know you're all worried about my future children...I'll try to be cute and crafty and WAY into Halloween by the time they are wanting to go out and Trick-or-Treat. :)

Nilla & Coco

So about a month ago Tom and I took Ciara to Idaho for school. We drove up and stayed with my friend Lexi and her husband while we were there. It was really fun to drive down with Ciara and I really enjoyed getting to meet her new roommates and hang out with the Argyle family. It had been a while since i'd seen them all.
Anyway the second day we were there I saw a post from Lexi about some dogs that needed a home. I looked at the picture and was in love. I have always loved dogs and we had them a lot growing up. I usually like more medium sized dogs, but these two little cuties stole my heart. So I showed them to Tom and he said we could go take a look. He was a little skeptical at first because he likes bigger dogs, but when we went to the house to go see them, the dogs acted like we'd already met before and were the best of friends. They didn't even bark (which they usually do when meeting new people). So then Tom was hooked on these two adorable dogs. Nilla is a chihuahua and Coco is a Dorkie (AKA dachshund/yorkie mix). They are 3 & 4 and just really sweet dogs. So we brought them home with us.

The drive home they were great! They were nervous to be driving so far away from home, but the just sat on my lap and looked around the whole way home...

Except for when they were sleeping

They really adjusted well to our house and have been great dogs! They only bark when new people come around which is pretty understandable. Nilla is a cuddle bug and loves to snuggle in her blankets and with anyone who comes over. She also loves the sun. If we go outside and it's sunny she will find the sunniest spot and lay down until it's time to go inside. Coco is more energetic and loves loves LOVES her chew toys. Nothing could make her happier than to just sit with her ball or rubber bunny and just chew away. She also loves to roll over for a treat.

I never wanted to be one of those people who acted like their pets were their children but....they kind of feel like they are.

They LOVE getting under their blankets to sleep.

They came with a few outfits which are actually helpful when they are cold. :)

So there you have it. Our little dogs. So cute :)

Jackson, WY

So after our wedding we have not been home at all until today really. For like a few days here and there we have been, but not for long. I am so happy to be home, but also really enjoyed the time we've spent the past month and a half with family. Our first post wedding trip was to Jackson, WY with the Hall family. I had never been to Wyoming and seriously fell in love with it! It is beautiful! If you haven't been there you should go! such a great place!

On our way to Wyoming we also stopped in Idaho Falls for a night. We walked around for a bit to the falls and they are also so beautiful. I have a pretty crappy picture of it from Tom's phone...haha sorry it's not that great

But anyway moving on to Jackson. We had a great time! We stayed right by the lake in some great little cabins. We played in the water, tried to catch little fishies, went boating, went canoeing, went to a fun little chuck wagon dinner/show, and just had a grand ol' time. I didn't get a lot of pictures because we always seem to forget our camera when we need it most haha. But i do have some more pictures from Tom's phone I took while we were boating!

I really had so much fun getting to know my in-laws more and just fell in love with all the kids even more than I already had. So excited for more Hall adventures in the future :)

Reception

After the lunch we had the reception which was AMAZING! I'm seriously so happy with how it turned out. I had been so nervous that it would be ugly or awkward or weird (I've been to a lot of awkward receptions). But my mom did a great job! She basically had to plan it herself because i was in Provo and couldn't help out a ton and she did such and amazing job! It looked beautiful (DEFINITELY pinterest worthy!). I really had SO much fun at the reception...there were so many people there i didn't even get to talk to everyone, but i'm so happy that everyone was able to make it and share our special day with us. We are so blessed to have such amazing family and friends.

 Dancing with my Daddy.

Us with the Groomsmen...Yeah...there were 9 it's fine haha.

Stuffing our faces with our beautiful cake

 Love my bridesmaids!

  First Dance Pictures :)

Post-Wedding Lunch at Leatherby's

So after the wedding Tom & I went to Leatherby's for lunch with my bridesmaids and a few friends. The family was all setting up for the reception.

It was really fun to just be able to talk with everyone after the wedding because I didn't really get to at the temple. Too much craziness! And i was STARVING so it was good to get some food in me. Anyone who knows my family knows that we are Leatherby's fanatics haha. Ever since it moved to Elk Grove they probably go once a week...(i'm so jealous i don't live there!!). Anyway it was only fitting that we had our wedding lunch there. And since it was our wedding day they had us stand up on chairs and announced to the whole building. Then gave us two gift certificates for free sundaes! YESSSSS :)

I love making a spectacle of myself in public haha...but what the heck it was my wedding day.... :)

Wedding Day

Our wedding day was perfect. A little hot in the afternoon, but it was really wonderful! I got up at about seven (well that's when i got out of bed...i was much too excited to sleep much that night!).

Savannah came around seven thirty to do my hair for me. It was so great! She is so good at it and i couldn't have asked for a more perfect hair stylist/best friend! :) Here's are some pictures of it:

I did my own makeup just so i would look normal and not feel like it was caked on so nothing exciting there. Tom came over before we went to the temple because he had left his tie and shoes there. We weren't really into the whole "don't see the bride before the wedding" thing haha

The temple was wonderful. Waiting to go into the sealing room felt like FOREVER even though it was only like 20 minutes haha. We had written each other letters that morning though and so it was really nice to get to sit in a quiet room and read Tom's letter to me. Being in the room with all of our friends and family was the greatest thing and even though i don't remember any of it...i do remember looking at everyone's faces and being so happy to see everyone there.

Then we went out to take pictures and some video. It was fun to get to see everyone. Although I feel bad i didn't really ever talk to anyone much that whole day i was too excited to focus haha. But here are some pictures from the temple. These are mostly from my mom and savannah & lizzy...I'll post the one's my aunt took when i get them. Sorry if there are duplicates hah too lazy to look for that:

Basically the best day ever. So happy to be married to this guy:
