I feel like Peter...

As i've said before, my absolute favorite story is the one of Peter walking on water. Right now i feel as though I am being distracted by the Storms of life. I feel like i was walking on water...towards Christ; Doing everything I should be doing, and then life took a turn and the storms started. Then, just for a moment, I let the storms distract me from what is really important. But as always, Christ isn't going to let us sink, he always pulls us up before we drown.

Thank goodness for Easter to remind us that there is someone who knows what we go through. Who is here to help us get through the storms of life.

“In our hour of deepest sorrow, we can receive profound peace from the words of the angel that first Easter morning: ‘He is not here: for he is risen.’”
“As one of His special witnesses on earth today, this glorious Easter Sunday, I declare that this is true, in His sacred name—even the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior—amen.”
—President Thomas S. Monson

Thank you for this post. I began studying the New Testament in January and immediately felt a connection with that story and all of the stories about Peter. I also, too often, feel like him. Though he was an apostle he was flawed and human--he doubted, became angry, lacked faith and even denied Christ because he feared his life. But, the Savior was patient and taught him and forgave him and came to his rescue time and time again. I guess there's hope for us;)
